silver pass and VVR

We hiked over the rest of silver pass this morning and then mostly downhill to Edison Lake. It was a long hike and by the time we got to the lake we had to hike on the bottom for another mile. The ferry comes only once an afternoon so we tried to hike around and found only sheer cliffs. The ferry turned out to be three dingies that backpackers had to drive themselves. We were carried off to vermillion valley resort in the back of a seedy van packed like sardines with 20 other grungy backpackers. Vermillion valley resort is a little resort in the middle of the wilderness where backpackers drink beer and eat steaks. We had a shower and then ate enchiladas and rib steak followed by cherry pie that I will remember for the rest of my life. The lady said bears frequent the resort and I am freaked out.
